Golfo Dulce 

Golfo Dulce is the purest and most pristine area of the Costa Rican rainforest.   • A critically important area for the sighting and reproduction of cetacean populations, especially humpback whales, a species declared vulnerable, as well as being the birth area of the hammerhead shark. In 2023, Golfo Dulce was named one of only eight Whale Heritage Sites internationally.
  • With 1,028 terrestrial species and 1,100 marine species in 310 distinct families (1.6 species per km2), Golfo Dulce features 21% of the species of the Pacific coast of Costa Rica
  • One of the four tropical fjords in the world formed from the force of tectonic plates’ internal transformations of the Earth´s crust.
